Access to comprehensive reproductive health services is critical to a woman's health. Unfortunately in the United States many women do not have access to reproductive health services.
While barriers to reproductive freedom affect all women, women of color and low-income women face unique obstacles that jeopardize their reproductive rights and health. As a result, the reproductive health needs of many low-income women and women of color are going unmet in the United States.
A complex array of factors, ranging from egregious historical discrimination to socioeconomic constraints, impairs minority and low-income women’s access to the full range of reproductive health care options. We must overcome these obstacles to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices.
NARAL Pro-Choice Montana is dedicated to ensuring Montana’s low-income women and women of color have the ability to access reproductive health care and the freedom to decide whether and when to have children. The legal right to choose, while critical, is not enough to guarantee access to the full range of reproductive options.
