Spread the word about no-cost birth control.
NARAL Pro-Choice Montana is thrilled that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has decided to make no-cost contraceptive coverage a benefit required by law! Starting next year, newly issued insurance plans must cover the full range of FDA-approved contraceptives without a copay! Write a letter to the editor to your local newspaper showing your support for no-cost birth control. Spread the word about this amazing opportunity for women. It is because of activists across the whole country that women can rejoice at this amazing victory. Here in Montana, hundreds of you have showed your support via our petition. And Sens. Baucus and Tester and Montana's Commissioner of Securities and Insurance Monica Lindeen sent letters urging Kathleen Sebelius to include birth control as no-cost preventative care under the health-care law. Affordable birth control without copays is a huge victory for women's health in Montana and across the country. As strong advocates for this issue, we know the importance and impact this will have on our community. Making family-planning services available without a copay will help Montana women prevent unintended pregnancy and thereby reduce the need for abortion. Letters to the editor (LTEs) are a great way to share this information with Montanans who might not have heard about no-cost birth control or the good work that our elected leaders are doing into the loop. We have created a simple form for you with some talking points and suggestions, so that you can fill in your message and click send! Being an activist has never been so easy! Please send a LTE to your local paper today!
And thank YOU so much for everything you do! Julianna Crowley Executive Director, NARAL Pro-Choice Montana
