NARAL Pro-Choice Montana and NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation promotes reproductive freedom and choice through education in an effort to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion.
 
Internships with NARAL Pro-Choice Montana and NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation allow you to build your resume and gain valuable organizing and research experience. This position will give the intern hands-on experience with the daily business of a small non-profit organization.
 
NARAL Pro-Choice Montana and NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation recruits interns year-round. We are looking for motivated, pro-choice students to assist in several of our programs.

Development Intern

Grassroots Organizing and Sex Education Project Intern

Internship Positions:
Development Intern
NARAL Pro-Choice Montana, a 501(c)(4) organization, is the political leader of the pro-choice movement in Montana. Our mission is to develop and sustain a constituency that uses the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive health choices, including preventing unintended pregnancies, bearing healthy children and choosing legal abortion.

We are looking for a creative, upbeat, pro-choice individual to fill the position of Development Intern in our Helena office for the summer. Internships with NARAL Pro-Choice Montana allow you to build your resume and gain valuable professional experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help identify membership-building opportunities and execute activities
  • Assist in membership renewal program
  • Assist with fundraising events for NPCM and PAC
  • Recruit volunteers for fundraising-related NARAL activities
  • Track donations, maintain up-to-date records on donors
  • Aid in writing and sending thank you
  • Organize and maintain the office in an efficient and functional manner
  • Assist Executive Director and Development Director as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong personal commitment to a woman’s right to choose
  • Strong computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to and comfort calling strangers
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in fundraising a plus but not required.
The Development Intern is expected to devote between 10-15 hours per week to working in the office.

Grassroots Organizing and Sex Education Project Intern
We are looking for a creative, upbeat, pro-choice individual to fill the position of Grassroots Organizing and Sex Education Project Intern in our Helena office for this summer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Outreach and member recruitment tabling at local events throughout the duration of your internship (petition-gathering, organizing, and training volunteers for pro-choice fair booths, etc.)
  • Assist in membership communication efforts relating to the Sex Education Program (E-mail alert, website maintenance, newsletter articles, etc.)
  • Assist with filing, database maintenance, input of pledges, and make address corrections
  • Assist in archiving project
  • Assist Executive Director and Grassroots Organizer as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong personal commitment to a woman's right to choose
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in Administration encouraged but not required
The Grassroots Organizing and Sex Education Project Intern is expected to devote 15 hours per week to working in the Helena office. A small stipend will also be offered. Our office hours are Monday thru Friday between 9AM and 5PM. Some evening and weekend work required. NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation will work with your school to ensure academic credit, however it is your responsibility to arrange credit approval with your department.
