About Us

NARAL Pro-Choice Montana, the state's largest grassroots organization dedicated solely to reproductive rights, has been working to protect choice in Montana for more than 30 years. We envision Montana communities in which every pregnancy is wanted, every child welcomed, every woman respected and we are determined to build them from the grassroots up.

We at NARAL Pro-Choice Montana sincerely believe that your body falls under your jurisdiction, and we work hard to make that ideal a reality. Although the entire organization is all about you - your body, your rights and your freedoms - this page lets you learn a little more information about us.

NARAL Pro-Choice Montana's Structure:

NARAL Pro-Choice Montana's work is divided among three organizations:

  • NARAL Pro-Choice Montana (501(c)(4) non-profit organization)  engages in lobbying, monitoring and acting on legislation affecting your reproductive rights, and organizing volunteers to reach hundreds of pro-choice Montana voters.  Candidates may come and go, but the issues stay the same--thatís why contributions to our 501(c)(4) are not tax-deductible; they support our effective, citizen-based advocacy and lobbying efforts.

  • NARAL Pro-Choice Montana PAC (Political Action Committee) is our driving force behind the election of many pro-choice candidates. NARAL Pro-Choice Montana PAC mounts multi-faceted campaigns, including political mail, on-line outreach, phone-banking and effective get-out-the-vote Election Day efforts specifically to elect pro-choice candidates.

  • NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation (501(c)(3) charitable organization and formerly Montanans for Choice) is our tax-deductible foundation that leads our public education, outreach and advocacy on all issues affecting reproductive choice.

NARAL Pro-Choice America has given Montana's state grade from an "A-" on women's reproductive rights. The grade is based on categories of restrictions on reproductive freedoms.
